The model state declared for Manipur Van Dhan Vikas Yojana!

With the active participation and cooperation of the Manipur government at all levels, the Van Dhan Vikas Kendras in the state has become a model enterprise for the rest of the country.

Manipur has been declared as a winning state, where the Van Dhan Vikas Yojana of the government has proved to be a major source of employment for the local tribals living in the state.

Since the launch of this program in October 2019, 100 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras have been established so far. 1500 SHGs have been formed in these centers and it is benefiting 30,000 tribal entrepreneurs of the state who are involved in processing, collection, packaging, value-addition, and marketing of value-added products from minor forest produce.

TRIFED - Tribal Cooperative Marketing Federation of India has been implementing many programs and initiatives since its inception as a nodal agency working in the areas of tribal upliftment. The purpose of these initiatives is to make India self-reliant as part of the self-reliance campaign.

• Has been extremely important in providing accurate information about the Van Dhan Vikas Yojana to the tribal entrepreneurs through team meetings, training, workshops, party support at TRIFED Nodal Office, Manipur with support and implementation agencies from the district administration and other stakeholders.

• Upgrades were organized for various skill development and cluster-wise training and value addition of NTFPs.

• Entrepreneurial management was also conducted at the district level in collaboration with existing companies like Meera Foods, Zingran Foods, Thangjamgro Industries, and Kangla Foods.

Van Dhan Vikas Yojana

It is a program for marketing, value addition, and marketing of small forest produce, by setting up forest wealth centers to promote the creation of sustainable livelihoods for forest-based tribes.

Van Dhan Tribal Start-up Program is a scheme that has made a major contribution in increasing employment and income. It is a part of the mechanism for the marketing of minor forest produce through MSP and the development of the value chain for the MFP scheme.
